The Yamaha Off-road Experience base is 5 miles outside of Llanidloes in the heart of the Mid Wales' Cambrian Mountains. This 600 acre farm backs onto the magnificent ten thousand acre Hafren Forest and Sweet Lamb motorsport complex which make up the vast riding areas. Yamaha Off Road Experience offer something for everyone - off road tryout for a complete novice to top level national enduro riders who want help to improve their skills and take them to the next level. You will access a variety of terrain, from farmland and open hill to the Hafren forest where most of the riding takes place. This is enduro heaven and has staged British, European and World Enduro Championshp events over the past 10 years. It has everything you would expect from a Welsh forest, from rocky tracks, tricky assents and descents, bogs, ruts and easy gravel paths and fireroads. In the morning our team of highly experienced instructors will kit you out with your riding gear and a Yamaha off road bike, and introduce you to the principles of off road riding. Then we will head off into the thousands of acres of surrounding countryside for approximately 5 hours riding on a variety of terrain including hills, river crossings, forest tracks and lots of mud! There are at least two instructors out on a day, who are there to guide and advise you whenever you need it. With a maximum of twelve riders in a group there's a high instructor/rider ratio which ensures that you really get the most enjoyment out of your day. Throughout the day riders may be split into groups of similar ability to ensure that everybody gets the most out of their day. Riders must be at least 12 years of age, and we welcome both individual and group bookings. Ideally riders should be able to ride a motorcycle with clutch and gears; riders with no previous experience may be able to attend, but prior notification must be given. TENERE EXPERIENCE DAYS The Tenere Experience Days cover a larger area, also taking in the Tarenig forestry block, country roads and the green lanes around Mid Wales, which are perfect for adventure bike riding. After getting kitted up and briefed by expert Instructors, you will then take a short ride out to the gravel based training area. Instructors will spend some time going through the basics of riding an adventure trail bike on off road terrain, including correct positioning on the bike, sitting, standing, braking, cornering and up & down hills. You will then pick up some easy trails, giving you the opportunity to put your new found skills into practice, whilst heading in the direction of a country pub for a much needed lunch stop. After lunch, you will continue for another 3 hours going further afield taking a mixture of technical off road trails, fast flowing gravel tracks interlinked by small sections of tarmac through some of Mid Wales’ most spectacular countryside. Make sure you bring your camera!!
