The only boat trip to land on Skomer and give you the opportunity to get within a few feet of Pembrokeshire’s famous puffins! A 15 minute boat ride takes you to the island where you’ll spend the day in this wildlife paradise before catching a return boat in the afternoon. Pembrokeshire’s stunning islands and their surrounding waters provide unique, internationally significant wildlife habitats for thousands of fascinating species including puffins, razorbills, gannets, guillemots, manx shearwaters, grey seals, dolphins, whales, porpoises and many more... Take a walk through Skomer's stunning floral displays - acres of bluebells (May), red campion, thrift, sea campion and heather; get to within a few feet of the famous Pembrokeshire puffins (April to July), and take in the superb geology and Britain's largest undisturbed prehistoric Iron Age settlement with hut circles, cemeteries and field systems. Grey seals can be seen all year round but particularly interesting is the pupping season from late August until October when milky white seal pups can be viewed suckling on the beaches and surrounding flat rocks, and we regulary see dolphins and porpoises on the boat journey to the island. We're a long established local company and have been offering wildlife trips and cruises for many years. We are the only boat operator permitted to land on both Skomer and Skokholm Islands – nature reserves managed by the Wildlife Trust of South and West Wales. There is no advanced booking for Skomer landings and visitor numbers are strictly limited so make sure you arrive early to secure your place and prepare yourself for the trip of a lifetime. The first boat leaves from the jetty at Martins Haven at 10am and all Island landing tickets should be purchased from Lockley Lodge, next to the car park, prior to embarkation.
