Choose from two relaxing trips for a truly memorable day. If travelling South from Goytre, you'll head towards Mamhilad about 2 hours cruising from Goytre and there are no locks along the route. At bridge no 62, there is a charming pub called The Star Inn where you could stop for your lunch before returning to the base. If you would prefer to travel a little further, then you can continue on to the turning point at bridge 57 and perhaps still call at the Star on the way back. If travelling north, you'll travel up towards Llanfoist, which is about 3 hours cruising from the marina, and no locks, a route with numerous bridges and charming scenery along the way. If you want to get away from it all, this route is for you, away from all civilization, with as much peace and tranquility as you could ask for. Although there are no canalside pubs in this direction, there is a picnic area with a table between bridges 93 and 94 if you want to bring your packed lunch. The last turning point is at Llanfoist Wharf, just before bridge 96.
