The Field Centre is situated in the small hamlet of Heol Callwen, Glyntawe, on the Southern edge of the Brecon Beacons National Park. The building is a conversion of the old primary school for the area. Sleeping up to 36 people the Centre is an ideal place to utilise for school and college trips. It also makes a good base for youth and adult activity breaks and Duke of Edinburgh expeditions. The accommodation and facilities have been awarded a 3 star Hostel grade by Visit Wales. The centre can provide a whole host of activities and study options for visiting groups. The location lends itself well to geography & geology groups of all ages, with glaciated valleys, river valleys, limestone pavement, large cave complexes, waterfalls, visible faults, mountains and woodlands all within a short distance. Almost any outdoor activity can be arranged. These include, but are not limited to mountain walking, archery, paint balling, air rifle shooting and quad biking. This website will soon be updated with specific pages about the activities we offer and how they can be booked. We can also provide visits to some of the historical features within the Brecon Beacons National Park such as; castles, iron-age hill forts, roman encampments, and standing stones.
